Blogger Review

I have been blogging for the past 2-3 years. I have used blogger for www.pratbuzz.blogspot.com and bicyclingisfun.blogspot.com. I have also used the webs.com blog service for TJS kids(3yrs back). I have mainly used blogger.
Brief description on Blogger:
It is free blog publishing site developed by Pyra Labs and later bought by Google. To use this blogging service one must register with a Google account(ie. gmail account). It is free blog service provider. All the free blogs are given URL which is suffixed with the blogspot.com domain                 (eg: www.exampleblog.blogspot.com), You can also have custom domain(like www.blog.com) but the company charges for it. Every thing else other than AdSense is free.

The Interface:
Blogger has really good interface. When you open the Blogger window, you get a screen which looks like this:

This page is something like a home page. If you click on the New Blog button, you will be able to make a new blog(completely new not a new post). A user can hold only up to 100 blogs. If you click on the pencil like icon(orange colour), you will be taken to the text editor page where you can write your new post. This text editor is like a window like this:

Here there are a set of option like save as draft, publish, preview the post and close. The text editor is like a usual word processing software(ie. word, writer, etc.). Now lets move on to the rest.

The main window where you actually get to make changes on your blog looks like this:

In this pic I am on the stats page. On the left side of this window, you see a set of options:

The following options are used to manage your blog. You can manage your posts, change the Layout and Tempelate, see your stats, etc.

I feel blogger is a very good blog publishing site. You can do a lot using blogger. Now I will just mention a few pros and cons on Blogger.

Pros:
  • Very good and easy to use UI.
  • A good graph representing the Stats.
  • Easy to change settings
  • Many Templates available.
  • There are many widgets or components to add in the blog.
  • Auto save every few seconds or minutes
Cons:
  • Very few fonts available.
  • Very difficult to use the HTML editing
Rating:
I can rate Blogger 4.5 stars out of 5 stars.

The Aruino Board

An Arduino basically is a Micro controller board, Which means it can be used for making electronic projects like robots, quadrocopters etc.  It is completely open-source. So it doesn't mean that you must need an Arduino licensed board. You can make a variety of circuits using Arduino. You can also program the Arduino to do certain things. I have the Arduino starter kit. It is available online on both Amazon and Flipkart. The basic starter kit consists of the main Arduino board, a bread board, jumper wires, LEDs, resistors and push buttons. Functions of these Parts: Bread Board:  It is a building board for prototyping electronic projects. Jumper Wires:  It can be used for connecting various components in the breadboard.  LED: It is also called L ight E mitting D iode. It is a self explanatory component. Resistors: It is used to control the flow of current. Push Buttons: It is a type of switch or button which when pressed turns on or off an electrica...

Badminton-The Game of the Shuttle Cock

Badminton is a sport played between two people or teams using racquets to hit a ShuttleCock across a net. This Sport is usually played outdoors while official matches are played in Indoor courts. Badminton can be played both Singles and Doubles (including doubles-mixed). The sport is very similar to Tennis. The main differences are that tennis is played with a ball whereas badminton is played with a shuttle cock and the other one is that badminton courts are smaller compared to tennis courts. The History: The game was invented nearly in the 1800s. It was a contemporary form of badminton called 'poona'.  British Officers took this game to England where they named it Badminton. After this there was a Badminton Federation formed. Later it was introduced in the Commonwealth Games and the   Olympics. Then on, the game started getting popular and now it is an International Sport.  The Court: The dimensions of a badminton court is 20ft by 44ft. The court is divid...
